Methodology & Sources
The Whopper Index tracks the local price of a standard single-patty Whopper sandwich (not Meal/Combo, not Whopper Jr., not Double Whopper) across G20 Burger King markets, converted to USD at live exchange rates as of April 24, 2026. Inspired by The Economist's Big Mac Index methodology, it surfaces purchasing-power differences using a globally consistent QSR product. Prices verified primarily from official Burger King local websites (burgerking.[tld]); where the official site was inaccessible, prices were cross-checked via delivery aggregators (Glovo, Rappi) or local fast-food menu databases.
Notes: Australia uses Hungry Jack's (Burger King trademark holder locally). India price is for the chicken Whopper — BK India does not serve beef. Russia: BK still operates locally (did not exit like McDonald's). Saudi Arabia: official sandwich-only pricing unavailable at capture time, excluded pending verification.
